Glossary · The loan itself
In short
CAPLines are a group of SBA 7(a) loan programs specifically designed to help small businesses meet their short-term and cyclical working capital needs. They are revolving lines of credit.
While most business acquisitions use a Standard 7(a) loan for the purchase, CAPLines can be a useful tool for ongoing working capital after the acquisition, especially for seasonal businesses. Discuss with your lender if this is appropriate for your post-acquisition needs.
