Where the numbers come from
Our authority is the source data, so we name it and link it. Nothing on DealRoom is an opinion about a lender or a brand — it's what the public lending record shows.
Public SBA 7(a) loan data
Every funded 7(a) loan the SBA discloses under FOIA — borrower, lender, amount, rate, status — from FY2020 to the most recent release.
FDIC, eCFR & the SBA rulebook
FDIC bank-failure records, the eCFR (13 CFR Part 120), SOP 50 10, and the SBA Franchise Directory — the primary sources behind every rule, rate, and fee we cite.
Refreshed and dated
Rates track WSJ Prime daily; loan and lender data refresh with each SBA release. Pages show when the underlying data was last updated.
Who we built it for
The same loan record answers different questions depending on who's asking:
- Business buyers see what comparable businesses actually sold and financed for, and whether a deal pencils out before signing an LOI.
- SBA borrowers check real rates, down-payment rules, and which lenders fund deals like theirs — then pre-qualify.
- SBA lenders see where they rank by state, industry, and franchise, and benchmark against the rest of the market.
- Franchise buyers compare brands on real SBA loan volume and how often their loans are charged off — not franchisor marketing.
How we keep it honest
Sourced and dated.Rates, fees, and rules are tied to a named authority (the SOP, the eCFR, WSJ Prime) and show the date they reflect. When the data can't support a precise number, we say so.
We are not a lender.DealRoom is an information service. We don't make credit decisions or guarantee financing, and nothing here is legal, tax, or financial advice. We may be compensated when we introduce you to a lending partner — disclosed at the point you choose to connect.
Your record, your say. Because we publish from public data, any business named in it can claim or request removal of its listing.
