In short
This status grants non-U.S. citizens the right to live and work permanently in the United States. It's a key requirement for non-citizens seeking an SBA loan.
If you are not a U.S. citizen, you must be a Lawful Permanent Resident to be eligible for an SBA 7(a) loan. You'll need to provide proof, typically your Form I-551 (Green Card), to the lender as part of the application.
