Glossary · The loan itself
In short
This refers to structuring an SBA loan with different repayment terms for different components, such as a shorter term for working capital and a longer term for real estate.
Instead of a single Blended Maturity, some lenders might structure a loan with Staggered Maturity, meaning different portions of the loan have different repayment schedules. For instance, the working capital component might be a 7-year term, while the real estate component is 25 years. This can sometimes optimize cash flow but adds complexity.
