In short
This is a public notice filed by a lender to legally claim a security interest in a borrower's assets. It establishes the lender's priority if the borrower defaults.
For an SBA 7(a) loan, your lender will file a UCC-1 statement, often called a UCC filing, to perfect their lien on your business assets. As a buyer, ensure existing UCC-1s from the seller are terminated at closing so your lender has first priority.
