In short
Vapor intrusion occurs when hazardous vapors from contaminated soil or groundwater seep into buildings, posing health risks and potentially requiring costly remediation.
This is a critical environmental risk. During your Phase I Environmental Site Assessment, the consultant will look for potential vapor intrusion sources. If identified, a Phase II ESA may be required, which could reveal significant remediation costs or even make the property ineligible for an SBA loan due to environmental hazards.
